I often tell families that I have a love-hate relationship with breastfeeding pillows. Mostly because parents often tense up and hunch over these pillows, trying to put the breast in baby's mouth like a bottle! In my opinion, pillows (of any shape/size, or blankets etc) should accomodate the parent, vs the parent accomodating the pillows! Many times I will help guide the parent to lean back, relaxing their shoulders, and bring baby to them, tummy-to-tummy (chest-to-chest, skin-to-skin). When everyone is relaxed and situated, it is easier to get a more comfortable feed ;)
